Cultural events and activities are spread across multiple sources, forcing users to search in different places. This can be overwhelming and time-consuming, delaying their decision-making process and causing them to miss out on great opportunities.

As part of this project, our goal was to design a user-friendly interface that made it easy and enjoyable to discover cultural activities in Madrid and Barcelona.

We applied the design thinking methodology, starting by gaining a deep understanding of the users and their experiences. Based on their needs and challenges, we identified key insights that guided the development of relevant solutions. These solutions served as the foundation for designing and prototyping multiple user flows. In the final stage, we tested the product with real users to evaluate the effectiveness of our approach.

When users register for the first time, they are offered an onboarding process to select their preferred categories within the cultural offerings of their city. Within these categories, they can further customize the types of events or activities they enjoy most. This helps refine the app’s algorithm to provide more accurate recommendations and reduce search time.

Explore personalized suggestions
On the home screen, called ‘For You,’ personalized recommendations are organized by the categories selected during onboarding. Additionally, there is a section with suggestions aimed at encouraging users to explore experiences beyond their usual preferences.

Thanks to the categorization of events available in the user’s city and their ratings, we reduce search time and enable users to choose their next activity with greater confidence.

Your Space
‘Your Space’ section is where users can find the events they have saved, their upcoming events, and past events they have attended. It also includes a calendar for clearer visibility of their upcoming schedule, along with challenges designed by the app to encourage increased user interaction and leveling up to unlock benefits.

From the past events in ‘Your Space,’ users can access the past event card of events they attended, where they can leave a rating and, if they wish, share their review in the Community section. The Community section is a feed that displays friends’ ratings of attended activities, helping users discover new and trustworthy options for their personal time.
